There is something about this time of year that can excite almost anyone. Fall is the beginning of a new year…time when you can start over…start fresh. With this fresh start comes a brand new football season for every high school across the country.

If you’re a cheerleader or cheer coach, this time of year is more important than for you than for most. You’re preparing for your teams homecoming, hoping to have a great season, and leave a lasting impression that will be imprinted in the memories of all who are involved with games. Make sure your prepared for the season with the checklist below:

1) Uniforms: It’s not too late to buy In-Stock Uniforms for this season.

2) Shoes: Put your best foot forward wearing your favorite cheer brand. Don’t forget cheer socks too which you can customize with your school colors.

3) Warm-Ups: Cheerleading warm-ups are a great way to keep warm this fall season.

Warm-ups can be purchased to match uniforms to unify your team look. Lettering and Embroidery are also great ways bring function and style together.

4) Bodywear: If you put your bodywear to the test during last years football and basketball seasons stock up on some new gear to complete your look for the new year. Remember bodywear is a great way to add color to a Uniform, so be creative.

Used primarily for binding and tying, ribbons are thin bands of flexible materials, preferably made out of cloths, but also plastic, which people use to wrap presents or create hand-made projects. Commonly used to embellish garments, and hair, or as ornaments on objects, ribbons have become a famous material for fashion as well as for decoration purposes.

Once affordable only by nobles, ribbons today are available in a variety of different colors, designs, textures and sizes to accommodate any need. Conveying a special meaning and symbolically significant, ribbons have been around for centuries nurturing the human aesthetic sense of beauty and elegance. Ribbon-weaving is known to have been established near St. Etienne as early as the 11th century, making that town the headquarters of the ribbon industry in its infancy.

The introduction of the jacquard loom around 1815, which produced floral and pictorial ribbons, allowed the expansion and the use of ribbons to new publics. In fact, during the 17th and 18th centuries, ribbons were used as a fashion embellishment both by men and women. Dresses, collars, hats, shoes, as well as numerous other fashion accessories, were trimmed with ribbons that took the form of rosettes and cockades. Produced in various colors, famously preferred in red, gold, white, and blue, ribbons were worn to represent nobility. France and then England embraced the ribbons use as an embellishment fashion accessory, while the ribbon roses, for instance, have become very popular during the Victorian times and even before.

Today, ribbons are used much the same way as before, but also in a number of new ways as new fashion and gadget accessories called for their beauty and flexible form. Ribbons have become much more than a simple embellishment; they have come to represent both a cause and a passion. Perhaps finding new ways to use ribbons is only a matter of inspiration and time.

3 Useful Tips for Rattan Furniture Maintenance

1. Regularly clean the surface
Since furniture made from rattan has many crevices, cleaning it can be a tricky task. Use mild detergent diluted in water. Lightly wet a soft cloth with the solution and wipe away dirt or stains. Remember not to over-wet the cloth as you will need to clean the surfaces without actually soaking the rattan. You can also remove dust with a vacuum cleaner beforehand. To clean stubborn dirt in the crevices, you can use a used toothbrush. Do not clean the rattan with detergent too often since it can damage the lacquer coating.

2. Place the furniture indoor
Rattan furniture is actually not really suitable for outdoor use, because it will lose its durability to weather and sunlight. The best way to maintain the durability of your rattan furniture is by placing it inside your house and not under direct sunlight. Also make sure you keep the balance of the humidity of your home. Low humidity makes the material dry and brittle, while extreme moisture provides the ideal environment for mould to grow.

3. Do annual major cleaning
At least once a year, do a major cleaning of your rattan furniture. Remove the accumulated dirt to prevent damages. Clean the rattan with more water than you use for daily cleaning and remove the dirt with a soft brush. Afterwards, dry it as quick as possible using hairdryer or put it outside but not under direct sunlight. Re-varnish your furniture with shellac or lacquer to protect it from water and make it look as good as new.
